What kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?

The kind of media institution that would distribute our film would be universal because universal could offer us a bigger budget for out film and also have distributed quite a lot of chick flick type films mainly in America, but they have also distributed a few smaller films like Bridget Jones and have had synergy’s with other companies and funded smaller films.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

Are main target audience would be young teenage girls or young adults this would because the main each of the main characters has a different “stereotypical” background. Which some of our audience would feel like they could relate to? Our target audience would be mainly British and American teens because are film would be British realism. Our film would be certified 12 because throughout the film their could be jokes aimed at adults which would appeal to our older end of the audience but still allowing our young viewers to watch the film.

as a group we decided to call ourselves star productions, we have made a few logo ideas and we have a poll on our blog to ask people which logo they prefer.

neo classic films: is the film company associated with the film st trinians 

they produce a lot of low budget films that are genres like chick flick, romance so as a company are aimed at more of a family audience.

nickelodeon: is mainly known for there main business as a children's channel, so already has a reputation of screening films for younger audiences, nickelodeon teamed up with paramount to help produce Angus thongs and perfect snogging.

paramount: paramount produced the very successful film mean girls, paramount is a very large company and the film hard a large amount of funding the film was aimed at from young teens to young adults. mean girls was the most successful chick flick that paramount have backed.

• typically in the narrative there will  be a weak character that is a "geek" or finds it hard to get socially accepted, then there will be a lot of popular girls but one main popular girl and the "geek" and the popular girl will both like the same boy but the "geek" will become popular in the end and the boy will fall for her.
• normal location for chick film genre films would be in a school or a flat or built up area  (i.e. in an around New York city for american adult chick flicks).
• the themes that you would associate with the genre chick flick would be: love, revenge, action.
• typical outfits that people where in this chick flick genre films vary it could either be: very stereotypical wear, high fashion, quite "sexy", or them main characters can wear what would be stereotyped as quite "nerdy" clothes. 
• the typical type of filming you will associate with this genre is that if its a British film it will be quite natural lighting, but if it is an american chick flick then they will use a lot more un-natural lighting and there characters will tend to have a warm glow,where British actress's in the genre chick flick tend to look quite pale and natural.

this is the location shoot that our group has decided here to film because we are filming in a school setting it is very ideal that we film around the college. these are some very good place to film because you have  a lot of angle options that you can use with the camera.so this is where our two minute film opening will be filmed.

as a group we looked at diffrent genres, we looked at the diffrent resources and techniques we could use when filming this genre and also what sort of ideal areas are available for us to shoot in. we started to particulary look at the genre chick flick and we know that sometimes that when people try to shoot a chick flick film that it can look "cheesy" and not very real atall but we managed to come up with an idea that we though would not have that effect. we also discussed other genres like horror and even though this is easier to shoot with the kind of equitment that we have, we felt that we wanted to do something diffrent because it is one of the most selected genres to film.

we are aiming that in our filming we are going to imatate the sterotypes that we are holding these stareotypes are (and what normally are associated with them):

chav: A "chav" is seen as someone who is very loud and typically creates trouble and is involved in violence what a "chav" would typically wear are certain brands of trainers i.e nike,reebok, adidas sometimes shoes like vans e.c.t. also they would wear alot of sports wear and baggy clothes like tracksuits and would typically have there hoods up.

nerd: A "nerd" would be seen as someone that would wear quite reserved clothing (buttons done up to the top on t-shirts) they would be associated with being very near, wearing glasses, and having a bag with books and a pencil case.

goth: A "goth" would be someone seen to be listening to quite heavy metal rock music who would wear very bold, and dark clothing they normally only ever wear black and wear quite heavy black makeup.

posh totty: "post totty" is seen as someone who is quite ditsy is only rich because of there parents typically blonde weres quite short skirts and revealing skirts and is very confident.

We have looked at saint Trinians as an inspiration for our two minute Clip. In this saint trinians trailer it shows you all the stereotypes of groups Like chav, emo, geeks e.c.t. showing stereotypes is going to be a main part of the two minute clip that we are going to make, and representing them in a typical fashion. our genre is also chick flick. to base our work on st.trinians is better for us because all te actress's are english. there will be four of us (mainly) in our clip each of us will represent a diffrent girl. the typical  sterotypes we have chosen to do are chav,emo,posh totty, and nerd/geek. this will be easy to resource for because getting outfits to fit each character is easily done, also we are setting our clip in a school and our main rescource is our college/school so this will also be easily done.

BRIEF

i will producing a short 2 minute film opening with a group made up of three other girls which shall be uploaded and evaluated on this blog.
